Barbara Mączka
Barbara Mączka is a visual artist and researcher currently pursuing her MA in Transversal Design at the Academy of Art and Design (FHNW), Basel. Her practice explores the intersections of hand-painted animation, affective psychology, and experimental illustration as tools for emotional inquiry. Through pigment, gesture, and rhythm, she investigates how analog processes can act as speculative methods for mapping experiences of anxiety and perception. Barbara’s research situates illustration not only as an artistic practice but also as a form of emotional cartography—one that generates knowledge about the ways visual language can soothe, disrupt, and reframe affective states.
